Dealing with Depression and Anxiety
I know a lot of people are struggling, especially in the modern day world, we're constantly rushing here and there and it's having a negative effect on our wellbeing. We need to step back, slow down and appreciate life instead of rushing constantly. Time is nothing, we must measure life on value and not time. So, I put together a little video on how to actually be happy and appreciate life.
SOLID Sugar Scrub!
In my last blog post, I showed you how to make a pink lemonade body scrub. Well, incase you have no containers lying around (I know it's rare I do!), I'm going to show you how make a solid bar which you can just store on the shelf next to your shower, use, and go!
So, here it is!
How To: Pink Lemonade Sugar Scrub
In this turorial you will see how to make an exfoliating Pink Lemonade Sugar Body Scrub. Simply apply in the shower to wet skin, rub in, and rinse! This super-simple DIY project also makes a great, inexpensive gift.
You will need:
• A container with a lid (jar, pot etc.)
• A spoon (something to stir with)
• A grater
• Knife (chopping board if needed)
• Sugar
• 2-4 Lemons
• Coconut/Olive oil (any oil will do)
• 2-5 Raspberries
• Cup
Firstly, you're going to want to take your container and fill it three quaters of the way with sugar. Add your coconut oil (or oil of your choosing) and stir.
Then, grate a lemon for a small amount of zest. Cut your lemons in half, and squeeze the juice into your pot or jar with the sugar and oil. Then, crush your raspberries into your cup until a liquid. If you like, drain the liquid to rid of pips, but note: pips are an exfoliant!
Then, add your raspberry juice to your sugar along with your lemon juice and zest, and mix. You should have a pinky, thick substance, with a consistancy of a slush. It should smell great, and the lemon and raspberry contain natural antioxidants and Vitamin C to give the skin a radiant glow and keep it renewed and healthy. It also renews the skin cells and the exfoliants will remove any dead skin cells.

Review #2: TRESemmé Smooth Memory Spray
This product claims to remember the form of your hair once it has been dried straight or straightened, and, with my frizzy, curly hair I thought I'd put it to the test.
Now, we all know Moroccan Argan Oil is all the rage at the moment, which is no surprise to me; it works wonders! Tames frizz, gives a radiant shine and protects hair. The Argon Oil also smells delicious, and this is what gives this product it's wonderous scent. Anyway, testing time!
As you can see, my hair was left shiny, strong and healthy after using this product, and most importantly, straight!
So, to test this, I plaited my hair into tight plaits before I went to bed. I slept on them, which usually leaves my hair extremely wavy, and then they withstood the heat and steam of the shower. This is what came out when I unravelled the plaits:
Unfortunately, I was left with a slight wave. Although writing this, the waves have actually pretty much dropped out of my hair and it is becoming somewhat straighter. Any hair type can use this but I'd be careful with thin, oily hair.
8/10 for this!
Thankyou, Lucy x

Post Schedule: May the 4th be with you!
Okay, so I have a little experiment with a product. I was bought this product and I used it this morning, so I'm testing if, what it claims, is true.
This product is the TRESemmé smooth memory spray from the 'SALON SLEEK' range. It claims to be smoothing and anti-frizz. It also contains Moroccan Argon Oil which is all the rage recently with hair products; I know why! It leaves my hair shiny and beautiful, reducing drying time and protecting my hair.
Anyway, this product claims to keep the hair straight. So, starting with straight hair, I am sleeping with my hair in tight plaits (usually coming out wavy), to put this product to the real test. Check back tomorrow (May 4th 2014) for the full review and results!
Happy Bank Holiday! x

Review by Caroline: Moroccan Argon Oil shampoo and conditioner
They are sulfate free which means they do not contain damaging chemicals that can be damaging to hair protiens.
Argan oil is hot at the moment, the buzz ingredient that promises to transform and repair hair
I have greasy roots and dry ends and very long hair so each product I try has its work cut out!
The shampoo smells fresh with a hint of fruit and feels light and delicate in consistency. It was easy to apply and spread through my hair no problem didn't over lather but did lather enough despite being sulfate free. It was easy to rinse and left no residue.
The conditioner was silky and smooth in texture and again was easy to apply and distribute over the hair, it wasn't heavy or cloggy and was easy to rinse out leaving it fresh and squeaky clean.
My hair being thick takes ages to dry and it also has a slight wave so is hard to dry straight. However I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly my hair dried, how silky it felt and how straight it stayed all day despite being quite humid.
Retailing around five pounds each they are averagely priced.
Overall rating for both products 8/10.

The Weird and Wonderful: Jelly to the Head!
Today, I discovered a wonder. In attempt to colour my locks, I used hartley's jelly; odd, I know. I saw an american blogger do it, but realised that in America, artificial colour are more frequently apparent to food.
I boiled down the jelly, left it to cool a little, and then, well, just stuck my head in the bowl really. I stayed there for an hour and then rinsed it (I washed my hair before leaving it damp in the jelly compound and as I rinsed it out I used no shampoo or conditioner, although conditioner I would recommended).
My locks were still, unfortunately, brunette, but... Magic happened.
I dried my hair. It dried very fast.. No frizz. Hm, okay. I usually have dry and frizzy hair that is so hard to control, thick, frizzy, dry and takes forever to dry. It dried in about 20 minutes as opposed to the usual hour... It came out silky, and although no colour was promenant, I was left with beautiful brassy tones and vibrancy. It's super soft and there's no knots present. This is brilliant!!
My hair appears shinier, softer, voluminous, and easy to manage. If only I could do this every wash! My hair appears healthier overall!
I've been trying to grow my hair for four years (it just won't GROW!!) and I'm secretly hoping it increases growth! Will be back with more updates soon. Try it yourself if you get a chance!
